争论多时的DVD-Audio标准格式已尘埃落定,其中音频数模转换模式以96 kHz/24 bit为标准,故所有知名的DAC芯片制造商都相继推出了96 kHz/24 bit DAC芯片。下文对现在已上市的96 kHz/24 bit DAC芯片做些简单的介绍。 值得一提的是,在这些DAC芯片之中,除了Burr Brown公司的PCM1704外,其它的都采用Delta-Sigma(Δ-Σ)调制方式,而且目前上市的这类DAC芯片都采用SMD封装(表面安装元件)。Δ-Σ调制是一种改进的增量调制,对输入信号和编码器输出的数字信号之差通过RC积分后进行量化编码,在接收端将收到的数字信号通过低通滤波器恢复成音频信号。简单增量调制传送的是输入信号斜率变化的符号。而Δ-Σ调制传送的是幅度信号,因此能传送直流电平。由于每个制造商所推出的这类DAC多半是以前相关产品的升级型,所以文中一并简要介绍。 Crystal公司以前推出的Crystal CS8412数字接收IC被不少视听制造商所采用,这次该公司推出96k版的CS8414和CS8412相比,不但所有功能和设定几乎不变,而且接脚也相容,故它们的外围元件可说是一样的。唯一不同之处是CS8414的显示取样频率除了原有的32 kHz,44.1 kHz,48 kHz外,还增加了88.2 kHz和96 kHz的显示。至于新推出的96kHz/24bit DAC芯片——CS4334系列,则保留了前一代CS4330的特点:只有8根接脚,不同的数字界面采用不同的IC编号。这样其功能简化,且能明显区分出哪一边是数字输入,哪一边是模拟输出,在设计电路板时格外方便。 Crystal公司另一款CS4390 DAC,资料手册中虽然明确记录其接受的取样频率仅达50 kHz,但根据实验的结果发现其竟然可以超频到96 kHz/24 bit的工作环境。CS4390是本次介绍的DAC芯片中唯一具有DIP封装(双列直插式封装)和SMD两种包装的产品。 日本旭化成(Asahi Kasei)公司所推出的相关芯片多以AK为字首,支持96kHz/24bit的DAC芯片有两款:AK4324和AK4393。就资料来看,两者的规格和特性相似,例如数字滤波器都具有75 dB的衰减特性,所形成的通带谐波都是±0.005,比特流皆为128倍超取样方式。不过AK4393在特性上明显地略胜一筹,其动态范围达120dB。AK4324和AK4393这两款芯片都有现成的解码电路板可供选用,以节省开发的时间和成本。其解码电路板上的数字IC可选用Crystal的CS8414。 Analog Devices公司最为津津乐道的产品是OP运算放大器,如OP—07,27,827等几乎成为音响发烧友的升级换代产品。其实它生产的DAC芯片也很有名,但因为其价格通常并不便宜,所以较少被整机制造商所采用。该公司新推出的96kHz/24bitDAC芯片型号为AD1855,单从数据规格来看,它属于较低价的产品,尤其是数字滤波器部分的数字滤波的阶数不够多,所以其衰减特性仅有47dB,想要使用好这块芯片就必须特别注意模拟滤波电路,最好能有3阶以上,以免噪声影响聆听。由于AD1855动态范围高达113dB,失真加噪声低于97dB,因此其音质表现应该还不错。AD1855可直接和CS8414搭配使用,两者之间可串联一个DSP电路,AD1855没有DSP接口,可接收脉冲式的LR时脉信号。 美国Burr-Brown公司制造的DAC芯片种类较多,其早期生产的PCM-63PK和PCM-1702PK这2枚20 bit的DAC,即使在96kHz/24bit流行的今日,也仍出现在DVD视盘机内,因为它们能接受16倍的超取样。不要小看它们只有20bit的量化精度,因其动态范围高达108dB,在表1中所列的24bit的DAC芯片中,动态范围超过108dB的也仅有AK4393,AD1855和BB公司自己的PCM1704而已。 表1 各厂商96kHz/24bit DAC芯片规格 型号 调制方式 数字滤波器衰减特性/dB 数字滤波器通带谐波/dB THO失真/dB 动态范围/dB 备注 AK4324 △Σ 75 ±0.005 -94 105 AK4393 △Σ 75 ±0.005 -100 120 AD1855 △Σ 47 ±0.004 -97 113 PCM1704 多比特 无 无 -102 112 注1 PCM1716 △Σ 82 ±0.002 -96 106 PCM1728 △Σ 82 ±0.002 -96 106 PCM1720 △Σ 35 ±0.17 -90 96 PCM1723 △Σ 35 ±0.17 -89 94 PCM1727 △Σ 35 ±0.17 -89 92 CS4334 △Σ 55 ±1.3 -88 96 CS4390 △Σ 72 ±0.001 -97 103 注2 注 越大越好 越小越好 越低越好 越大越好 注1:PCM1704无数字滤波功能,且为单声道设计。 注2:CS4390所列数据均为50 kHz取样频率条件下,用于96 kHz时本数据不具有参考价值。 但BB公司新推出的PCM1704是目前市面上唯一具有24 bit量化精度的多比特DAC芯片,输出的是电流信号。PCM1704有3个与众不同之处: (1)PCM1704为单声道设计,想设置为立体声时需配置2块。 (2)其输出为电流信号,故需搭载I/V转换电路。 (3)PCM1704没有内置数字滤波器,实际应用时需搭配外置数字滤波器。 除了PCM1704外,BB公司其它的DAC芯片可分为两类。一类是数字滤波器衰减特性为82dB,有PCM1716,PCM1728;另一类是数字滤波器衰减特性为35dB,有PCM1720,PCM1723,PCM1727。 PCM1716和PCM1728可说是品质价格比最高的DAC芯片,具有最佳的数字滤波器(见表1),而且售价不贵,所以颇受各厂商青睐。两者规格大同小异,只不过PCM1728取消了一些一般用不到的设定功能。至于PCM1720,PCM1723,PCM1727都是低价位的芯片,它们的数字滤波特性仅有35 dB,一般只适合使用在对音质不苛求的DVD-ROM,DVD随身听、汽车音响上。 这里介绍一家较为知名的数字滤波器制造商——日本精密电路公司NPC(Nippon Precision Circuit),以前NPC公司最常见的数字滤波器当属SM5813,其数字滤波高达110dB,20bit量化,许多的数模转换器当时就采用SM5813+PCM63PK的组合。如今NPC公司为配合目前流行的96kHz/24bit规格,推出了SM5846,SM5847两款数字滤波器,是PCM1704的最佳搭档。SM5846的数字滤波衰减特性达104dB以上,通带谐波却只有±0.000 01dB,比起表1中的DAC芯片内置的数字滤波器的规格要强很多,因此与PCM1704应是门当户对。 NPC公司还推出一款SM5844芯片,专用于异步取样频率的工作,如可把44.1 kHz的信号提升至96kHz,让其后端的DAC芯片发挥96kHz/24bit的解析能力。不过它只能提升2倍的取样频率和20bit的量化精度。 另外,表1中所列出的各款DAC芯片的数据仅供参考,并不能以此断定其在实际应用中音质、音色谁优谁劣,这一点请注意。今后,越来越多更新更好的DAC芯片会陆续上市,96kHz/24bit的发展趋势也无可估量 |
